Tri-Country Hill Hopper Ride - Feb.25

January 19, 2007
Okay, so Kriss and I haven't been doing much riding this winter....okay....none. So, what better way to get our butts in the saddle than sign up for a ride so we're forced to train for it?

Join us Sunday, Feb. 25th for the Tri-Country Hill Hopper Ride out of Round Top (about 64 miles from Austin). The ride is a MS 150 Recommended Ride with three route options available: 29 miles, 45 miles and 76 miles.

From Nirav - Early AM bike rides to start off 2007

January 11, 2007
To the gsdm'ers and non-gsdm'ers alike. I'm planning...hoping...to do some early morning bike rides, starting in downtown or central Austin to start off the year. The idea is to get the blood flowing, grease up the chain on the new road bike, throw on some warm clothes, gain confidence riding on the roadways of this fair town with a group, and get the butt used to a fairly new saddle. Many of us at GSDM are coping with a loss of our parking garage on Henderson Street for the next three months. The routes of these proposed morning rides could possibly start at one of our remote parking lots. We can do an hour ride, possibly ending the ride at GSDM. GSDM'ers have showers and lockers available to them, so they can get cleaned up at the office. Just in time for that 9am meeting.

Any interest?

2007 planning is underway

December 01, 2006
Thanks to Kathy and Kriss for hosting last night's meeting.

I'll be updating the mailing list this weekend and sending out a "how to use me" message once everyone's on it.

We're still looking for a "sponsorship care" chairperson - someone to keep our sponsors updated on what the team's doing, put together gift baskets, a photo for their place of business, etc.

Kathy is designing the jersey and is open to feedback on the design.

Post things I forgot as a comment here...

We did it!

April 24, 2006

Wait, we actually did more than just ride to Woodrow's.

Day One
Day Two

Thanks to everyone for having me on the team and for all of the organization and assistance that went into the weekend. Todd, the Shanleys, Skinny, Kriss, Cheryl, the Hamilton family, Sammy, the Wiggins(es), Jen B., and too many that I'm forgetting, great work.

2/20/2006 11:06 AM
By: News 8 Austin Staff
Austin police are searching for a man they say robbed a bank on a bicycle.

Investigators say he rode his bike into the First National Bank drive-up window on Highway 183 in North Austin.

Police say the suspect is in his late 20s or early 30s, about five-feet-10 inches, 175 pounds, with a thin build.

He was seen wearing a baseball cap with a maroon hood pulled up over it. He had on a dark bomber jacket, dark gloves, a dark backpack and blue jeans.

The mountain bike was blue or green.

Any information should be reported to CrimeStoppers at (512) 472-8477 or the APD Robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092.
